It’s so cool watching this show all these years and then being a part of it. I got a call from Frankie to be a part of the team for the first cycle of America’s Next Top Model: College Edition. I was already excited to work on this project, but when I heard the concept, I was beyond happy. For the hair, Destiny had a victory role that was inspired by Gwen Stefani. For Victoria, I went with a very high fashion, Jackie-O 60′s look. Natasia wore her hair in a Marie Antoinette inspired coif. For this shoot, the bigger the hair, the better. We were definitely making a statement!

Gosh, I’m freaking lucky!! I mean, how many of you guys love One Direction? I know I’m a huge fan. Who would have known that “What makes you beautiful” music video would hit over 94 million views. At the time these boys were very kind, polite and very playful, especially Harry. I was lucky enough to be apart of the glam squad who got these boys ready for their now infamous video. Girls tell your boyfriends to take note because a simple blow dry can go along way. I can’t say enough great things about these boys, but if you’re wondering how to achieve these hair looks I’m going to divulge exactly what we did. Stay tuned!!

Zayn: Even though he has short hair, we still had to blow dry his hair to maintain it’s shape. I concentrated the heat at the root area to increase the lift. I used a simple derma-organic leave-in argan oil to maintain softness and to reduce frizz from the windy beach. We also put a small amount of texturizing paste for a ‘piecey’ effect. A little spritz of hair spray can also go a long way. It’s very important to not use too much product.

Harry: He’s definitely my favorite. His long and wavy hair needed just a little bit of the leave-in argan oil. I used a bore’s bristle brush to style, and my fingers to direct the wave while blow drying. I wanted to keep that consistent with his natural hair. The best way to keep his hair looking natural was to use as little product as possible.

Niall: On his blonde hair, I used a ‘nectar thermique’ by Kerastase. I used my Mason Pearson brush while blow drying everything down and forward. This gives it a direction for the hair to fall. After drying, we used some texturizing paste called ‘fiber’ by Crew. We continued to use a very little amount of product. Since his hair naturally gets fluffy, we had to blow dry it straight as well.

Liam: We started off with the leave-in argan oil. I flattened the perimeter with my hand while blow drying and then used the dryer to flip the tips upwards. This made his natural waves to flip out while still looking neat. I used the Mason Pearson brush lightly with the blow dryer to straighten the top just slightly. He wanted his hair moveable so I left out the hair spray.

Louis: Since his hair was longer in the front shorter on the sides, we used some more of the leave-in argan oil to reduce frizz. I used my Mason Pearson brush with the blow dryer to get his hair straight with a slight bend. This was done in roughly one inch sections. With the same brush, I followed the shape of his head with the blow dryer behind the brush. We used a tiny amount of texturizing cream to add a ‘piecey’ look. He also got a touch of hair spray.

The biggest challenge on the beach was the wind! Luckily the glam squad was ready with very tiny amounts of texturizing paste and hair spray throughout the day. Shout out to Kurumi Uchino for an amazing opportunity to work with such a huge talent. Check her out here: Kurumi Uchino

I’m so excited to finally announce that I will be on We t.v.’s new hit show “L.A. Hair”. It was so much fun and exciting shooting the show with such an amazing cast. I can’t wait for you all to see the excitement and boy was it exciting! The show follows Kim Kimble and her crazy stylists. Watch all the great guest appearances, the fabulous hairstyles and the drama. Don’t forget to tune in May 31st at 10pm on We t.v. <3

Oh my gosh, growing up watching The Simpsons, I never thought I would actually get to go to Bart’s house…well Bart, Ralph, Nelson etc… Nancy’s house was so eclectic and whimsical with pink accents all throughout. The smell of roses actually spread all throughout her home. While I was doing her hair, our conversation of course led to Bart… She said, “aye caramba!” and made me giggle like I was 5 again. Her interview was for PBS and can bee seen soon. She talked about her life story and all of her amazing accomplishments. Sooo funnn. <3

Nathalia Ramos, the gorgeous blooming star and good friend of mine seen here with two totally different looks. A year ago i set her up with a very young and hip style for the Kid’s Choice awards. I felt like it went well with her fierce dress. Then this year we colored her hair a beautiful auburn brown. It’s a very seductive and sultry look for her slightly more mature appearance. You can see her everyday on her Nickelodeon show, House of Anubus.

This was the very end of our shoot for Canyon Beachwear. The models probably had 100+ bathing suits each!! We pumped them out in 8 full hours.
